Grand Falls - with no water!

OK, this is an interesting trip from my time in Arizona. Everyone kept telling me how cool Grand Falls was. It is only about 45 minutes out of Flagstaff, and it's a huge waterfall. The water in it is brown or black because of the silt and mud in the Little Colorado River. Well, I should have known something was wrong when the sign by the road said "High Water" and the road looked like it crossed a dry riverbed. I looked back and saw some overlooks behind me off the road a way, so I turned around and headed back. I pulled over and got out of the car. I really got suspicious when I didn't hear any noise at all, much less the roaring water of a waterfall. Well, these cliffs are where the water would be rushing over. Just picture some coffee-colored water rushing over those cliffs and you have Grand Falls! Date: January 11, 2000.
