Sucker Lake

We took this picture from a cool point at the northeast end of Sucker Lake. I'm looking south-southwest in this shot. Just behind me and to the left is a short portage that cut a ton of paddling off. We didn't have to go all the way around that large peninsula heading west. It was nice, because that was still on the motorboat route and Birch Lake wasn't. No more wakes to deal with! Off in the distance there's a small island. A loon kept popping out of the water to check us out at this spot, too.
